Dun Dun Dun...
About two weeks ago my companion and I's cell phone went missing. One morning we were doing our morning studies where we had our cell phone on our study table. From there we went to a meeting with some of the other missionaries in the area. It was at the meeting my companion went to reach for the cell phone in her backpack and realized it wasn't with her. We just figured we had left it either in the car or at home, no big deal. After all, where else could it be?! We had only been to those places before the meeting. After the meeting we went and looked in the car, then went home to search our study room, but the phone was no where to be found. We prayed for help that we may be able to find our phone and asked other missionaries if they would pray as well. We searched our car, we searched our bedroom, we searched the kitchen, bathroom, we looked in the fridge, and even the garbage. We could not find the cell phone anywhere. Not having a cell phone this day and age is rough! We had all of the phone numbers we needed in there, we were able to call people if we were in the car, and when we were out and about. This was not possible without a cell phone. We wanted so bad to find our cell phone, and always thought maybe, just maybe it would magically appear one day. We went for about two weeks without a cell phone, but eventually received another phone in the mail from the mission office!
Because we experienced that short time without a cell phone, we recognize how wonderful it is to have one! Life is much easier, that's for sure. It was difficult at times without a cell phone for those two weeks, but we have another one and everything is okay.
Situations like this happen all of the time in real life. And this is a very small, minute example compared to a lot greater and more serious trials and difficulties that take place in life. The majority of the time we want things to go how we want them to go and if they don't, we let ourselves get upset or stressed. I think it's important to remember that if we are doing our best, then the Lord will do the rest. It's also important to remember to be grateful and focus on the good in our lives. We have so much to be thankful for.
So what happened?! Did we ever find the missing phone? No, we didn't. Things don't always go the way we wish they would. We do have the promise, though, that when we do our part that everything will work out for our good.
In the New Testament, in the book of Romans 8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

hope.
What gives you hope?
The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me hope. Jesus Christ provides that infinite power of hope if we let Him.

My Passion
I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I am serving in the Santa Rosa California mission. I don't know if there is anything more fulfilling or rewarding than sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with His children. My love, my life, and my passion is the Gospel, the "good news" that The true Church of Jesus Christ is on the Earth today.
Jesus Christ has changed me. I know that it is through Jesus Christ and His gospel that we can find true peace and happiness. We can face life's difficulties with strength. We can overcome our weaknesses and temptations. With God and Jesus Christ, we can do anything. There is a scripture in Luke chapter 1 verse 37 of the New Testament that says "For with God nothing shall be impossible." I know that this is true!
We are all God's children, He is our Heavenly Father. He loves every single one of us so much, He loves YOU more than you can imagine. There is a song that I love and I have come to love it more and more as I have come to understand a little better the significance I have in His plan.
"I am a child of God,
And he has sent me here,
Has given me an earthly home
With parents kind and dear.
Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
Help me find the way.
Teach me all that I must do
To live with him someday
I am a child of God,
And so my needs are great;
Help me to understand his words
Before it grows too late.
I am a child of God.
Rich blessings are in store;
If I but learn to do his will
I'll live with him once more."
I hope that you know that you mean so much to our Heavenly Father and that YOU are His child.
